I have downloaded and tried to install the toolkit.

Firstly, I do not seem to have the folder samplescripts after I have unzipped the files.

Secondly, despite following the instructions, when I try to create a new document using any of the templates provided, I receive a Microsoft Visual Basic dialogue box with "Unexpected error 336"

I can even get as far as seeing the template, but the error message appears when I click the smiley button to insert new characters.

Can you help please?

Tony

Which type of computer and operating system and which version of Office or MS Word are you using?

Ah, true that folder is only in the Sample Template download; I assumed that everyone would try the Sample before paying any money.

Checkout the Sample Template first, by downloading it from the front page of the Toolkit. [Link]

The Sample Template file is called Stage5c.zip. It contains two folders, one called Sample Scripts and the other called Scripts5 and a document called InstallationInstructionsNI.doc

The Sample Scripts folder can be dragged to your "My Documents folder. It contains one file called TheAddingMachine5.doc.

The Scripts5 folder needs to be put into a folder that MS Word regardsas a templates folder. It contains one template called Stage5c.dot

If you don't see these files & folders there is something odd with your Zip program, which you will need to sort out before opening a template will make any sense.

Now this is odd because if you start a document from the template, it first displays the Notes, then asks for the Title, then asks for the twenty Characters, so if you needed to Click the Smiley it implies that you didn't pass through that sequence i.e you didn't open the document based on the template in the expected manner. It is essential to put the templates in a template folder as detailed in the installation instructions. then open MS Word, then drop down the File menu and select New. In Office XP you then select "General Templates" from the menu system that appears.

Thank you!

I gleaned from your advice that it was a problem my end, and I reinstalled my Works Suite, which has sorted it all out.

Cheers.
